| Catherine Cabot (Surf/Torrey Pines HS) continues to excel at the college level. She earned a goal and an assist in Georgetown University’s 4-0 win over James Madison University on Wednesday, Sept. 2. She followed up the performance with a solid showing against Santa Clara University, but the Hoyas lost in OT, 2-1.
Cabot is pleased with her rookie season thus far.
"It's been tremendous,” Cabot said. “The team has really welcomed me with open arms and made the adjustment very easy. I think I am finally getting into the swing of playing at the Div. I speed and my teammates, especially Caitlin Durkee, Michaela Buonomo and Gabby Miller, have been instrumental in helping me adjust. I feel this was the right place for me to play soccer."
Cabot arrived on the East Coast following successful high school (Torrey Pines HS), club (Surf) and national team (U17 U.S. Women’s National Team) campaigns. Her playing experience helped her transition well.
"My coach, Ada Greenwood [Surf/USD], helped me prepare for this level and my coach here, Dave [Nolan], has continually surprised me with things I never even knew about on the soccer field. He is constantly working with me and helping me become a better player every day."
